[ID: A video clip showing a Black person in a green coat interviewing an elderly white person holding up a flag, with more protesters in the background displaying Palestinian flags.
The interviewer asks, “Why is it important for you to be here today?”
The protester responds, “Well, uh, I’m Jewish, I’m Israeli, my parents were the only survivors of their families from the Holocaust. They both survived Auschwitz. I’m not going to support genocide am I?
"I’m here with the Palestinians, and we are here with Palestine, because we don’t believe that what the British government is doing is correct. The British government is supporting this genocide! It’s arming Israel, it’s financing Israel.
"BBC and the other media here is supporting genocide. This is illegal. This is immoral. We don’t agree with it, we will never agree with it, and as Jews – and myself as Israeli – I am totally against it, and we will continue to be against it.
There are now more than 60 such events in the whole of Britain, uh, people don’t want to support this. They are against this government on so many other issues, but especially on this one.”
Another elderly white protester next to the first joins in, leaning forward to add:
“And, also, this didn’t start on October the 7th. In 1948, Palestinian villages, hundreds of them –”
Another elderly protester interjects specifically, “500 of them”.
The second protestor nods and continues, “were demolished, thousands of Palestinians, innocent men, women, and children were slaughtered, and seven-hundred and fifty thousand Palestinian refugees were created. That’s when it started, and it hasn’t stopped since!”

one of my current frustrations right now is the knowledge that because there is such third-world levels of censorship in US and western media all of the usual avenues of “trustworthy” sources are nigh unusable, and so in the war of disinformation and misinformation you do have to rely on tweets, on-the-ground NGOs, aljazeera, primary sources, your odd substack, largely because it takes traditional western media approximately 8 months to 10 years to put together a comprehensive report before they’ll admit the idf lied or acknowledge palestinian suffering
like right now we’re in a place where no outlet wants to admit the idf deliberately targets civilians, even though they are killing journalists and doctors alongside their entire families, targeting bakeries, water tanks, solar panels, hospitals, ambulances, and covoys of aid, all of which depict a picture of genocide and align perfectly with all the genocidal statements israeli politicians have already made
and so no outlet wants to admit that the ground invasion is looking closer and closer to a systemic massacre, and nobody wants to admit that the only thing standing between palestinian civilians and their impending and merciless death is a group they have designated as terrorists
everyone is writing about how hamas should release hostages, about how hamas should surrender, about how israel will save palestinians (however many are left after the airstrikes) from hamas, about a potential peace
but nobody is writing about the time when israel negotiated for the PLO (then also designated a terrorist group) to disarm and leave lebanon, only to break the diplomatic agreements and orchestrate a massacre so bloody of an undefended refugee camp that even americans were horrified
a hundred years of war on palestine - rashid khalidi
the israelis & americans who greenlit and orchestrated this massacre received no consequences and two of them went on to become the prime ministers of israel
nobody is writing about the on the record statements from israeli soldiers in 2014 from operation protective edge where they admitted they destroyed houses for destruction’s sake, were not asked to check if these were civilians before shooting, and did not care whether they were. anyone found in a zone they had warned to “clear” was assumed to be a terrorist.
all of north gaza is currently designated an area to be cleared. it includes hospitals that cannot be evacuated, elderly and disabled people who cannot evacuate, and the doctors and medical staff who stayed behind to help them and refused to leave
nobody is writing about how israel actually increases the levels of violence up until the last second before a ceasefire
nobody is writing about how israel has violated more ceasefires than hamas anyway, that they have violated ceasefires, betrayed agreements, broken un resolutions, ignored international law all in the pursuit of killing a few more palestinians and are unlikely to stop now
no outlet is really talking about the fact that asking for a ceasefire has become politically fraught when it was already rock bottom
no outlet is really talking about how palestinian death has become easier and more politically expedient to justify than palestinian life
but im sure they will when it’s far too late, as they always do

This was shot last year. It explains what life is like under the occupation in Palestine, especially the west bank. It’s very important and informing about everyday life, please watch it and share it as much as possible.

(7 November 2023)
“Euro-Med Monitor estimated that Israel’s overnight attacks, the scale of which is unprecedented since the start of its war on the Gaza Strip on 7 October, left more than 1,500 people dead or wounded as well as hundreds of homes destroyed, many with their residents trapped inside.”

I think Najla Said’s post is a great way to test yourself on how far you understand this.
I’d appreciate it if someone can caption the picture above.

“Here are the rules:
You may not post long comments about Israel and Palestine unless you can answer the following series of questions without cheating:
- Define Zionism ("Jewish nationalism” is not and acceptable answer. Please be more thorough)
- Who is Lord Balfour? Who are Sykes and Picot?
- What are UN resolutions 242 and 338?
- Explain the laws of citizenship in Israel for European Jews, Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews, Palestinians with Israeli citizenship and Gaza and the West Bank. Please also discuss Jerusalem and license plates in detail.
- Why did Oslo fail?
- Who are Edward Said (“your dad” not an acceptable answer) Ghassan Kanafani, Naji Al Ali, Rashid Khalidi, Ilan Pappe avi Schlaim, Gideon Levy, Amira Hass
Name 4 more people who know more than any of you for extra credit- What are Judea and Samaria and who refers to them as such and why?
- What is the Nakba and where does the term come from (please cite work and author)
I’m sure I’ll come up with more
Feel free to add on
But also note if you can’t answer at least 6 of these you are uneducated on the topic and should simply be calling for a ceasefire out of love for humanity.“End ID]

@Shepherds4Good: Palestinian children in Gaza hold a press conference outside Al Shifa hospital, speaking English so the world cannot pretend not to understand them: “We come now to shout and invite you to protect us; we want to live, we want peace… we want to live as the other children live.”
